About Us

Object Reservoir (OR) is a cutting-edge technology company that provides a unique approach and revolutionary solutions to challenging problems in the global E&P industry.
Since its inception in 1995 by co-founder John Mouton (co-founder of Landmark Graphics), OR has been increasing capital efficiency and decreasing reserves uncertainties in shale and unconventional reservoirs. OR has developed a groundbreaking technology and has fine tuned a streamlined approach to solving complex reservoir modeling quandaries in the Haynesvillle, Eagle Ford, Montney, Woodford, Bakken, Horn River and Marcellus shales. Based in Houston, with offices in Austin, Texas, operators in numerous oil and gas basins around the world have improved reservoir exploitation economics by employing Object Reservoir’s unique technology and workflow.
The TechnologyObject Reservoir’s Austin, TX based Software Development group provides the oil and gas industry with a game changing suite of analytic and finite element-based reservoir and well modeling and forecasting tools. OR has cracked the code; quickly and accurately analyze a large number of wells with short production history, then reduce physical uncertainties leveraging Resolve’s ability to apply finite element analytics to multi-phase fluid flow effectively. When combined with OR’s well data storage, diagnostic plotting and physics-based analytic forecasting toolkit, this provides operators with usable EURs for even the most challenging shale wells. Over the past six years working in shale and unconventional gas, Object Reservoir has developed the most accurate, robust physics-based software suite, including three-dimensional reservoir characterization modeling. Eight patents have been granted both in the United States and internationally, and another 21 are pending. |
The ApproachObject Reservoir has worked over 10 years on perfecting its streamlined and totally unique Unconventional Gas Workfow. This workflow is enabled by a unique knowledge architecture (ORKA) and physics-based analytics used to rapidly assess and diagnose well parameters, which allows wells to be grouped, or categorized, based on performance. Once the wells are categorized, recovery is forecasted (with possible upside and downside cases) using a lumped parameter predictive model. Physical and geomechanical drivers are then further defined through in-depth numerical analysis using Resolve’s finite element technology to get a detailed understanding of well performance characteristics. The 5 similarity parameters in the analytic model are then refined, allowing forecast uncertainty ranges to be reduced and gas recovery to be defensibly estimated. This streamlined approach allows for answers to complicated problems in a fraction of the time versus traditional methods, enabling operators to develop an earlier understanding of the performance of individual completions and generate more reliable forecasts from early production data. |
Advanced Technology SupportObject Reservoir employs a multi-disciplinary team of oil and gas experts that help E&P companies utilize its trademarked technology and unique unconventional gas workflow. Our advanced engineering support of our proprietary technologies range in scope and complexity from assisting with theoretical single-well modeling to working with your asset teams in the use of Object Reservoir technology and workflows for the analysis of wells across an entire play. |
