Account Manager:

Object Reservoir, Inc. (OR) is searching for a Houston-based software account manager to pursue software sales of our new modeling products. The software allows OR’s clients the ability to rapidly and accurately characterize reservoir assets and to assist in improved management and recovery of those assets.

Technical

  • Understand reservoir characterization in unconventional resources
  • Understand the exploration and production cycle and how we fit therein
  • Understand the sales cycle
  • Understand Value Selling
  • Understanding of customer’s business needs (from P&L to Cash management)
  • Understand OR’s business needs (where are we in the company development)
  • Marketing knowledge of segmentation, productization, and strategic planning
  • Knowledge of client company structure to help reduce A/R.

Performance

  • Manage the sales cycle
  • Negotiate with client companies to meet margin targets
  • Sell strategically within an account at the highest level to insure that Limits becomes a mission critical part of the client’s reservoir engineering workflows
  • Forecast business (dollar amounts and dates)
  • Develop creative solutions to penetrating new accounts
  • Ability to dig into a client account and uncover areas where we can directly affect client company’s goals (Reservoir management, reserves analysis, etc.)

Position Summary:

  • Meet sales projection for assigned territory.
  • Contract Negotiation with client organizations
  • Must work with clients to define two to five year plans for services and products.
  • Responsible for sales worldwide. Must be able to forecast on a quarterly and annual basis, and deliver promised forecast.
  • Responsible for collections of receivable for same
  • Manage all accounts to provide returns specified by product line, by service line, and by cost ratio
  • Insure that all client support needs are fulfilled
  • Maintain open communications to development group

Desired Requirements:

  • BS degree
  • Five to ten years experience in oil industry
  • Sales experience in oil industry
  • Familiar with reservoir engineering
  • Familiar with software industry

Minimum Requirements

  • Sales experience (preferably in High Tech or Oil & Gas)
  • Entrepreneurial, taking attitude
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Dedicated to customer satisfaction
  • Ability to learn all facets of OR’s business.
  • Ability to create clear and concise reports of business opportunities, problems, and solutions.

Austin

Senior Application Designer/Developer

Object Reservoir seeks an experienced Application Designer to lead the continuing  architectural evolution of our design to support our products not only from the end-user’s perspective, but also from the standpoint of our in-house team in terms of  development, scalability, and maintainability.

Experience Requirements Guideline:

Object Reservoir applies an Agile process to develop its products in Java using a Netbeans IDE and technologies such as RCP and OSGi. The candidate should have at least 10 years experience including:

  • Experience developing infrastructure for a Java desktop application
  • Experience with modular application architecture development (OSGi, Netbeans RCP)
  • Experience designing and developing a multi-threaded application
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Experience designing, implementing, and documenting APIs
  • Experience performing code reviews
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented design patterns
  • Experience developing unit tests
  • Experience estimating work for planning purposes
  • Experience with Maven, Subversion
  • Experience with the above in developing an enterprise application for commercial deployment.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and on projects with other team members

Software Developer

 

Object Reservoir seeks an experienced Software Developer to implement, maintain, and extend the interaction between a Java-based desktop application (NetBeans RCP and Swing) and the database persistence layer for both embedded and external systems.  The successful candidate will be responsible for areas such as database schema, release-driven schema migration, import and export capabilities, and overall performance of the persistence layer.

Experience Requirements Guideline:

Object Reservoir applies an Agile process to develop its products in Java using the NetBeans IDE and technologies such as RCP and Swing. The candidate should be proficient with the following:

  • Working with JPA implementations (EclipseLink or equivalent)
  • Working with open source and commercial databases (Derby, MySQL, MSSql, …)
  • Developing J2SE software
  • Using standalone and embedded databases
  • Developing and maintaining database schema, database migration, and application interactions
  • Database-to-Database importing
  • Unit testing
  • Knowledge of provenance collection techniques
  • Estimating work for planning purposes
  • Working with Maven, Subversion
  • Using the above in developing desktop applications for commercial deployment.
